April Theme Day: Pedestrians Crossing

Even on a rainy Easter Sunday, there were people out traversing the plaza and visiting the Tennessee Aquarium.

Wine Over Water 2012

We attended Wine Over Water last night, which is a tasting event benefiting Cornerstones for Historic Preservation in Chattanooga. I am not sure of the actual attendance, but you can see from the photo that there were quite a few people. There were 46 tents set up on the Walnut Street bridge, mostly offering wine,  but a few local restaurants had food as well. Fun time!

September Theme Day: People Watching

The Back Row

During the weekly Nightfall concert downtown in Miller Plaza, I walked away from the main gathering and saw these two gentlemen enjoying the show from across the street.

Youth

Over the past two weekends there have been several proms around town and plenty of young people have been out and about in all their finery. This is my favorite shot of one of my favorite people.

Tourist Season

Tourists, college students, residents, and dogs are all out enjoying downtown on foot or bike and even with a guitar.

The View

The planters along the pedestrian bridge have pansies blooming in them. There are several sitting next to benches,  making it a pretty place to stop and enjoy the view of the river and downtown. I thought the homeless man made this an interesting composition.

Real Life Insurance Ad

There is an ad on TV for car insurance where a man calls his agent, crying, and she asks if he's run his car up a pole again. This scene reminds me of that ad, except the driver seems much more under control. Actually he looks as if running up poles is an everyday occurrence, judging by his posture.
I took this back in October and while the car is long gone, the pole is still at this striking angle.

A Child's Christmas

Christmas is so much better when you can experience it through the eyes of a child. I miss having "little ones" around this time of year.
