Civil War Cemetery

The Silverdale Confederate Cemetery contains 155 unmarked graves. The graves were originally marked with wooden boards, which deteriorated. In the 1920s the stone fence was built to mark the area. Today it is a quiet, grassy spot which sits between I-75 and Lee Highway.

Hi Meghan, Welcome to the CDP community. Apart from the song and the battle I must confess I knew little of Chattanooga, not even that you are in TN.
I like most people I guess am moved by any soldier buried without their name on a marker. I served, so I find it easy to identify, that there but for the grace of god. Paul at Leeds in Yorkshire daily photo
